Step Right Up: Vintage Circus Event at the ROM

The circus came to town at the Royal Ontario Museum! This circus themed dinner party blended child-like whimsical elements with a sophisticated edge that made for a spectacular evening.

Jugglers and men on stilts greeted guests as a playful selection of hors d’oeuvres were served, including miniature corn dogs, mole chicken tacos and a shrimp po’boy.

An outrageously entertaining performance by Hit and Run Productions signaled the raising of the curtain to reveal the main event; an elegant, themed dining room. The first culinary act awaited guests; a ribbon salad dressed with house-pickled vegetables and sherry vinaigrette.

The feast continued with the main attraction, a choice of Miso Glazed Black Cod, Butternut Squash Polenta, Sous-Vide Chicken Supreme or Canadian AAA Tenderloin Steak.

The grand finale was a parade of circus treats, Chai Tiger Striped Brownie with a dollop of caramel sauce, house-made caramel corn topped with a whisper of cotton candy and chocolate soda shooters topped with whipped cream.

After the show, attendees made their way to the over-the-top Candy Station by Candys By Sisters as a sweet reminder of a magnificent night.
